Bird no. 307. Whistle while I work.I was wondering, would it be possible to turn all the unsavoury tasks in my life into joyful ones? In a systematic, organized way, could I seek and push out discomfort by adding pleasure?.For instance, I have always hated doing the dishes. The other day, it Dawn-ed on me (hahahahahaha), I hate it because every time I turn the taps back on I burn my hands I put on some rubber gloves and voila! What a meditative experience I’ve been missing out on! .I get so much joy out of a good playlist when I’m cleaning up (although I’d probably get more done if didn’t dance the whole time ), and I always look forward to a podcast or audiobook when I sit down to work..When I’m avoiding a computer task, simply the IDEA of a good cup of coffee gets me going. It’s so strange, all I have to do is turn the kettle on, and by the time the water boils I’m so deep into the work that I don’t even want to stop and finish making it .I’ve even heard of people taking themselves on a date with their admin tasks!
