yousuckthecomic: Hi, folks! Thanks to everyone for followin’ the comic and subscribing to its tumblr and all that. The next comic will be streamed tomorrow evening at my Twitch page. It will move the story… an inch. Some of you will be like “really, Josh?” and I do understand… But You Suck needs these moments sometimes, and you may be pleased to hear I do intend to stream and post the comic that follows only a few days later, and the schedule will go pretty much like that until Chapter 5 ends. 2-3 comics a week, which honestly ain’t super-great, but it is better than once a month! There’s a lot I can say about the last few months of meager comic production, but honestly… I think I just needed a break, a real break. During this time, I had a bit of a breakdown which I’m only recently getting over, and I stepped down as CEO of Slipshine. Both these topics will be covered more on the personal tumblr, where it’s more appropriate. But also during this time, I thought quite a bit about You Suck and how to fix its schedule. I do feel like the leisurely pace of the story is one of the ingredients that makes the comic what it is, and I’d rather not change that, but obviously it’s an element that was easier for readers to deal with back when the comic updated every day. Of course, back in the beginning when it updated every day, I clearly didn’t put as much time in it. And unfortunately, with me, it really is an either/or thing. The comic can update constantly and look like a hot mess, or it can look nice and clean and update 5-6 times a month. When Chapter 6 begins… I’m thinking of going back to the former for a while. It won’t look quite as bad as the first comics, but it’ll definitely be looser, something I can produce in 3 hours, give or take, so it can be a daily thing I can keep up with while still having time to work on scripting and other comic projects like my Slipshine works. And the thing is, the early comics were all cleaned up and made more finished for the book collection; I was able to do it surprisingly quickly… and I intend to do the same for these comics as well. When the chapter ends, I’ll use the chapter break time to make polished versions of all the comics to be presented in the second book collection as well as to Patreon subscribers. That is the plan. tl;dr: -the rest of the comics in Chapter 5 will be posted every 2-3 days most of them will be streamed at Twitch. -after the usual chapter break (which will be sometime at the end of the year), You Suck will be daily again, starting with Chapter 6. But to fulfill this schedule, the comic will be less polished. -After Chapter 6 concludes, I’ll use the break before Chapter 7 to create tighter versions of all the comics in the chapter, for their eventual inclusion in You Suck vol 2, as well as member-exclusive updates for the Patreon. I’m rather looking forward to giving this plan a try, and feel rather positive that it’ll work. But I cannot do it alone! -back the Patreon. Members currently get HUGE versions of the You Suck comics, lotsa neat WIP updates on whatever I’m working on for Slipshine, and at least one exclusive bonus pinup to make that dollar worth it. $5 backers also get full access to me PDF library. -buy You Suck vol 1 when it comes out… Which should happen along with the next update or the one after! Almost all the Kickstarter orders have been fulfilled. -Let your friends know about You Suck. While I am doing the best I can, it can be unfortunately difficult to promote a comic with sexual content in it. There’s rather a lot to talk about concerning my life situation, but that’s all the You Suck related stuff. You can check my personal tumblr for another big update about thngs, and in any case, look forward to the continuation of Chapter 5 tomorrow! Thank you, friends! P.S. Please watch Kamoc’s karaoke stream tonight. It starts at 8PM cst, and toward the end, I will be doing Monkey Wrench. -- source link
