The Hindu swastika, which is actually in my house, represents good fortune and happiness, and was used long before Hitler stepped foot on this planet. Also, it is normally straight, and has dots in between. The Nazi swastika, which obviously represents hatred of Jews, is normally on an angle, and has no dots in between. DO NOT MIX IT UP, OR CALL AN INDIAN WHO HAS THIS IN THEIR HOME A NAZI. IT IS NOT THE SAME THING.Reblogging on the off chance this comes up for anyone I know. Teach yourself. Native Americans have swastikas too.Hitler’s practically just a plagiarist a lot of religions have swastikasTHANK YOU!Guys I’ve known the Hindu swastika my whole life then I get only Tumblr and find out the Nazis appropriated it. I was so disgusted. How dare they? But anyways thanks for spreading this Why do you lot think they were called the axis powers? The swastika turned on its axis. That said, way back when I first started out here. Someone claiming to be Jewish was showing a guy who was “literally advocating Nazism” on their college campus. I said if that’s true then the Nazis were dipshits because their swastika was not on the axis. This person started in “I literally don’t care, they were advocating” blah blah. Then I had a bond telling me how dare I tell a Jew what they were allowed to be offended at. Which I wasn’t, I wasn’t even disagreeing with them, but it did get annoying that someone would hide behind their religion.I’m sorry folks, I don’t care what your religion is, if you’re being stupid, I’m gonna call you stupid, I didn’t at that time because I was still coming out into my own. But it really was stupid. I judge on ideas and if you think I’m defending Nazism by saying “those guys are dipshits, they didn’t even get their sign right ” then you’re fucking stupid. Hey Buddy, don’t mean to be an ass but there’s some misinformation in your words there. Not all nazi swastikas were turned on their branding and the term “axis” came about due to Mussolini’s famous speech in 1935 (maybe ‘36?) when he joined forces with hitler and said “This Berlin-Rome protocol is not a barrier, it is rather an axis around which all European States animated by a desire for peace may collaborate on troubles,” the twisted , or turning, cross has always been a symbol of good fortune, hitler’s passion for the occult and symbolism brought about the widespread use of the iconic symbol in their branding. That’s what I was taught in school, and I’m not above being corrected now. Still, a mistake is a mistake. No harm no foul so long as we correct it. True?Very true Friend. The biggest problem with reading/writing is you can’t see or hear the author’s intent or sincerity. I’m never above being corrected either. Just thought I’d lend a little more to the conversation. Seems these days people are downright phobic of being wrong. Like it’s the worst thing that could ever happen. I’ve said it more than once before- being corrected too often means someone must re-evaluate so many other things it causes the fight ir flight reaction in most people. It is easier to fight or flee than to consider how many other things they thought they knew could be wrong. You would show me the same courtesy I’m sure. Totally. -- source link
