Quite a week at work. GOD. 3.08 A Red WheelbarrowEpisode 8. End of the second ‘movement.’ Alex Gansa did say something big was going to happen at the end of each movement. BOOM.Or more like BANG.Can you believe Quinn just shot Carrie to stop her from blowing their super secret operation? I thought he was the guy who shoots bad guys? He can’t even shoot Brody last season when there was a very real possibility he was a terrorist. Which is still not clear, by the way. We are going off of Javadi’s word here. The guy Franklin melted down the motel bathtub drain (u_______u) may be the bomb maker but it does not guarantee Brody had nothing to do with the Langley bombing.I did like that he hesitated - and that Dar Adal called him out on it. XD 'I stopped her didn’t I?’ Yes, you did Quinn, but one second later and everything would have fallen apart. The hesitation can mean two things: 1) Quinn had really had enough of this using-guns-to-hurt/kill-people procedure of theirs. The kid in Caracas really messed him up, obviously. Or, my preferred option 2) Out of all the people he was going to have to shoot, Carrie is the hardest because he has Feelings for her. XDXD 'Anything for you, Carrie’ right?Carrie is really unstable at this point to jeopardize EVERYTHING she had worked for since 12/12. After almost losing her mind in the psych ward, she was willing to throw all their hard work away just to prove Brody is innocent. Just to get her hands on the bomb maker and make him say Brody did not move the bomb. I guess when you’re pregnant with a person’s baby, you’d do anything to clear his name of being a terrorist.I’m still not sold on the Brody baby. It’s not a particularly interesting development. But do you think the baby will survive the stress Carrie is in right now, bleeding to death? Maybe they introduced the pregnancy so they can explore Carrie’s coping mechanism when she loses it? OR. They made Quinn shoot her so that her pregnancy will finally be made known to the rest of the world because shot in the shoulder -> hospital -> doctors finding things and telling people.Meanwhile, Saul was missing during the intense operation because he’s in Venezuela picking up Brody. Heyy, he’s relevant again! XD So a couple of things revealed: Saul had known all along where Brody was, probably organized everything so he’d fall into the hands of the people of Tower of David; and that Brody is somehow a part of the 'Regime Change’ plan. Saul is doing some pretty brazen things here. Hopefully it pays off.I like his banter with Lockhart. It’s genuinely entertaining. Saul’s passive aggressive tendencies are clearly frustrating for Lockhart. And I love watching it. XD Lockhart is a lot more interesting of a character than David Estes ever was.Two other things: Fara and her difficulties with the CIA life. Somewhere down the line, her ethics are going to get the best of her. Maybe Quinn too. Also, Mira’s boyfriend. What’s up with him? That wasn’t just jealous ex lashing out right? Bad news for Saul, looks like the bad guys also have a person watching CIA’s moves. Here’s hoping Saul does not do work on his home computer.Pretty strong episode, this one. The suspense/intensity was reminiscent of some of Homeland’s best episodes. Again, the rest of the Brody family was MIA and that wasn’t exactly a bad thing. Now that Saul has doped-up Brody though, they’d be back on screen. Hopefully for better reasons. XD -- source link
