winterbells1: 23claw: babeerat: dangerouslypleasantcoffee: micdotcom: Watch: SNL destroys the homophobia behind “religious freedom” bills. THAT’S NOT WHAT IT FUCKING MEANS YOU ASSHOLES. Someones right to get married does not supersede someone else right to serve their chosen God how they will. But you know what, only Christians are being targeted, no one fucking asks a Muslim run bakery or wedding venue to do it. SNL can fuck off a fucking cliff and die a horrible death. They’re not funny, they’re not relevant anymore and they definitely are full of leftists political bull fucking shit. I cannot believe that we actually have to have LAWS that protect the Religious population from being forced into doing something they actually disagree with. Fuck off with this fucking nonsense. Just say you hate lgbt+ folks and goooooooooooooo. Like I can’t believe you are so angry over this lol. Typing out entire novels fueled by homophobic rage. If you’re working in a place that serves the public you do not have the right to deny service to anyone regardless of sexual orientation, gender, race, ethnicity, religion, or class. You’re not losing anything, other people are just gaining basic human rights. @dangerouslypleasantcoffee Actually no one is entitled to your service. In a free society the government doesn’t own the bakery and the baker or tell them how to run their business. You have a free market that works in this way; you go to a bakery that denies you a service because of religious beliefs, so in your town there’s another bakery that probably will make you a cake. Getting a wedding cake made by homophobic Martha is not a “basic human right” you have the right to purchase a good or service, but you do not have the right to force a person to do business with you. You have the right to shop around until you can find a baker or you can find a way to make the cake yourself, but you don’t not have the right to make someone make a product for you. And I think you’re very confused about what constitutes a “basic human right”. SNL is not funny. I don’t believe anyone should use their religion to not provide a service because that is bad service and makes you look bad but I certainly don’t think that it is ok to force someone to do something just because you choose to fuck someone of the same sex. It is their right to refuse service just as much as it is the gay couples right to marry. Simple as that. Actually no it isn’t the state they were in literally says it’s illegal to not serve them. And they didn’t even get in trouble for that they got in trouble for releasing information about the couple in question leading to treating phone calls and letters, including death threats against their daughter. But you ducks don’t give a fuck about that just ~uwu let bigots be awful it’s wrong to call them out or make them obey the law usually~~ -- source link
