There’s an important story to share about this #AltmanPlant called #TPM aka #TrichocereusPachanoiMontrose: it has served me well as a grafting stock to help my other cultivars flourish and thrive. Of all my cactus plants though; this beautifully handsome plant is the one that started me on this journey of cultivating and loving these plant relatives. The mother rootstock that this offshoot pup came off of died recently after serving me well. As it started to weaken, I cut the former scion (graft) off the root stock and told her telepathically and verbally “thank you” for saving my other plant. I promised her she could produce her own offset and that I would care for it and love it equally as some other more expensive and rare clones and cultivars that I grow. She put all of her energy, or what she had left, and produced this pup before finally shriveling up and dying. There came a point where she no longer would soak up water in the pot and her root-stock body totally corked up. She continued to dehydrate and shrivel and I knew that this offset would be her only lineage to continue. So despite all my TPM specimens; this one is really bonded with me and I’m required to care for it, grow it, and help it continue on its journey. It’s the living lineage and a promise kept has to be a promise fulfilled to these plant nations. This is the level of respect and affinity I share with my plants! https://www.instagram.com/p/CTvFGUSBDAm/?utm_medium=tumblr -- source link
