Sketches from last year. I got my first job last year and worked night shift, a couple hours before work I sketched something that I could work on during breaks or lunch, and every day I put something in my sketchbook. In the top sketch I had found a mantis forelimb and used it for reference, though I mistakenly drew the medial view of the limb. Oops. The other creature has a crest based on an Amazonian flycatcher. The face is a combination of a wasp and tiger skull, would not work in life but at the time I thought it was neat. -- source link
