Sarah says her daughter warned her boyfriend before she brought him to the house: “My mum’s house is her in house form, slightly quirky, to say the least…” The dining set was a present from a friend. The squiggly 1960s ceiling light is one of a pair from an antique store. Sarah’s love for shaggy fur, rich color, white and visual wit come together in this corner of the dining room. Sarah glitter-enhanced and framed the Blondie print, which has a matching Elvis. Sarah loves sheepskins and buys them everywhere. She found the white leather La-Z-Boy recliner in a charity shop and made the heart-shaped light feature out of strings of fairy lights. Sarah painted a dark wood Edwardian cabinet to fit in her white and cream scheme. Sarah draped the chandelier with strings of pearls. The landing houses her collection of glamorous make up, set off by feathers and black flowers. The wallpaper in the spare room is hand-studded with Swarovski crystals. The 1950s dressing table was from an antiques shop. Sarah’s bedroom is a boudoir.
