solarishashernoseinabook:heliosdraws:I haven’t seen a lot of posts that shed some positivity for non-binary Muslims who wear the hijab – I personally sometimes feel it’s frustrating that people see hijabi non-binary people as “female” just because the hijab is an obligation for women. My hijab does not define my gender; only my obligation to my God and my religion! Shoutout to all non-binary hijabi Muslims out there; you are valid and Allah loves you, insya-Allah![Image IDs: First image: Drawing of a person’s torso holding an arm up to wave. They’re wearing a hijab, glasses, and black coat and smiling. Text says “My name is Helios. I am a Muslim.” Second image: Text says “Since I wear my hijab 90% of the time, most people assume I am female.” Image is of the same person with a slightly wry expression. A red arrow points at their head. Next to them is the sign for female in purple surrounded by blue question marks. A blue equals sign is between them and the person is pointing to the gender sign. Third image: The person standing triumphant with the genderfluid pride flag, one foot on a rock and grinning broadly, surrounded by gold stars. Text says “But in truth, I am gender fluid!” Fourth image: Two drawings of the person, both smiling. In one, they have a flower pin in their hijab and are wearing a dress. One hand is behind their back and the other outstretched in a dainty gesture. In the other, they’re wearing pants, a shirt, and coat, their hands in their pockets and leaning on one leg. Text says “My hijab does not define my gender! (next to the picture in the dress) I can be feminine presenting, (next to the picture in pants) or masculine presenting. My hijab is my obligation to Allah!” Fifth image: The person shrugging with their eyes closed, smiling. Text says “No matter what gender you are and how you present yourself you are still valid in the eyes of Allah.” /end] -- source link
