kennethbrangh:Kenneth Branagh breaks down in tears after the ‘Belfast’ premiere at the Toronto Film Festival | Sep 12, 2021.“You thought you were at a place in your life where the very simple thing is you’re very happy. And then, in a minute it was very difficult to deal with everything that came up” I am so proud of the recognition Kenneth Branagh’s film “Belfast” has received recently. I’ve admired him for years now, so that he is again garnering praise for his talent and work brings me so much joy. I’ve shared this many, many times and will continue to share it as often as I can… I will forever support Kenneth Branagh because around the time that my Nana’s dementia started to really take hold, I discovered Wallander. Kenneth Branagh brought to the screen a character whose father has developed Alzheimer’s disease. For me, he brought to life a character whose experience of loss felt very familiar.Watching as Wallander experiencing the same things I was feeling became very cathartic for me. Reading Henning Mankell’s books helped put into words all the things I was feeling - the worries and fears and heartache.By the time the last season of the series was released, my Nana had already passed away. There were countless times when I had to pause an episode to breakdown for a minute.Admittedly, I have yet to finish the book series because I’m just not ready for it.I can’t say enough how much I love and appreciate Kenneth Branagh for all that he has unknowingly done to help me get through such a difficult experience. -- source link
