madamslayyy:youngblackndgifted:blacktwittercomedy:Black Social ComedyLol why is it a problem to atleast have your cameras on ? The other stuff fine .. but having your camera on isn’t controlling… it’s basic requirement to want to see your pupil as you’re teaching them. It’s important part of the closed loop communication because while a child may not vocally express confusion their body language may show it . Not to mention cameras caught a little girls mother being murdered by her boyfriend . May have saved the child’s life That’s an incredibly rare and isolated event. Teachers trying to look for that ‘expressed confusion” are more than likely just looking for a student to call on so they can get that forced participation they bank on so the lesson won’t be as dry. If a child is forced to learn in THEIR home, then no they shouldn’t be required to have their cameras on. There’s no gain in the equation other than the student being uncomfortable and is just as silly as any other rule schools make up that have no weight in the real world like restricting bathroom breaks or refusing non-medical absensces. It’s obvious some of you have never taught children before . Imagine thinking that being able to see the child you’re teaching is about controlling them . In order to effectively teach students have to be paying attention . Are you telling me children with their camera off are going to stop still without the watchful eyes of their teachers or parents ? They barely sit still WITH supervision . Do y’all have children ? Teach or even ever tutored a child ? I forgot this is tumblr and a lot of y’all argue for the sake of arguing and trying to seem woke . -- source link
