hummelssmythe: gleeksandtheirconfessions: If RIB could give us Brittana, why the hell couldn’t they have given us Faberry too? Remember that BOTH halves of Brittana were straight in S1 so don’t use that excuse. “BOTH halves of Brittana were straight in S1 so don’t use that excuse” Look I’m all in for Faberry, but Brittana were sleeping together in season 1, how is that straight? I mean, sure, they were sleeping together but #nohomo. Seriously. Brittany and Santana were confirmed to be sleeping together since as early as episode 1x13. And it wasn’t a one time thing like Quinn, so you can’t even pass it off as “experimenting”. They were continuously sleeping together. Not only that, but Brittany said she had made out with all the guys and girls at the school. Just because they both hooked up with guys, doesn’t make them straight. What kind of bi erasure/heternormative bullshit? As for why they didn’t give you Faberry just because they made Brittana a couple, I can give you a few reasons and you can pick whichever one you like best:What exactly about the way they treated Brittana in the first half of the show makes you think they were at all interested in adding another queer female couple to the show? They didn’t even care about the one they had already. They had a plan, and Faberry was not a part of it. Yes, believe it or not, even the Glee writers had a plan for their characters (or their main one, at least) to some extent, and they weren’t gonna rearrange all of it just to please some demanding fansEspecially when Dianna left half way through the series. How are you expecting them to put the main character with a character that appeared in a handful of episodes in the final three seasons? Which goes into the next point: Rachel was the main character. As sad a reality as it is, they were never gonna make their main character queer after establishing their big endgame couple. It just wouldn’t ever happen. Brittany and Santana were side characters that they could do what they wanted with, so it was easier to explore that storyline with them.Lastly, and it kind of ties into the first point: they did not want to. Writers are not obligated to bend to the whims of fans. -- source link
