Where: Glasgow I am told that it’s pronounced Glas-go instead of glasGOW so, but either way, it’s the largest city in Scotland. And it really does have the large city vibe. I can’t say that I am a big fan of that vibe, but if you want to spend the whole day shopping until you drop whilst you drop POUNDS then, glasgow is the place for you. If you are looking for a culturally rich experience, I’ll advice you to steer clear. I mean, I did end up finding a couple of touristy things to do, but for the most part everything was very far apart and just mediocre. I mean, don’t get me wrong. The city is very cool and modern. But, personally, it wasn’t really what I was looking for when I can to Scotland. I could have done it at home, in the US. Anyway, there are some little hidden gems in Glasgow. First, the Cathedral is absolutely stunning. I know I have said this about churches before, but it was awe-inspiring. In the past, churches were built beautifully to gain followers. The decor was to be so incredible that the people attending church wouldn’t even have to listen to the sermon to believe. I’m not going to lie, this church was so stunning it led to some inner self-reflection. It was pretty freaking cool. Next to the Cathedral is a Necropolis. Now, if you don’t know what that means, it’s basically a FATASS cemetery. There are all of these tombstones and all of these tombs and monuments from hundreds of years ago. I think William may be a scottish name because lord, every other headstone said William. So, there we go. It was a little eerie being there, but actually quite beautiful. I also have started this new thing where I like looking at bridges. I mean, i started with the Ponte Vecchio and moved on to the Millennium Bridge, but I’d say it’s a “new thing” even if it’s only been like 2 bridges. Anyway, there was a cool bridge in Glasgow that I think is noteworthy to see. It’s actually pretty fascinating and very unique to say the least. I liked it. Finally, i got fish and chips in this pub called “goose” i think by the central train station, and it was ABSOLUTELY the best Fish and Chips that I have ever had. SO i think that’s what I will remember about Glasgow the best. The best fish and chips. ever. -- source link
