electricrain: sadis-gate: electricrain: Real skin Little hairs, scars, freckles, bumps, scars, irregularities, differences in tan, strech marks, birthmarks, folds said a post showing very smooth skin with small bith marks, congrats I´m actually glad you commented this, so I can take that as an opportunity to explain the following: If you follow me, you’d know that I’ve had the idea of doing a little series of photographs of unedited and unaltered bodies/skin, to raise awareness on what bodies actually look like and how there actually is such variation, in contrast to what we see in the media. This in reaction to the fact that people are so insecure about their own body because there basically is only one body image type being represented - an altered, impossibly “perfect” one - so people think how they look is odd because they don’t have a clue. It’s more of a test picture for that series that I quickly made, so I only had myself available. People will say this isn’t the best example because this picture indeed might not show the most bumps or birth marks or whatever in the world. But you don’t have to have it the worst yourself to be advocating for it, and my point was to show “real skin” which basically just means unaltered and un-photoshopped. But – you are right that this single picture on it’s own misses the point a little because you can’t see the rest of the pictures for this try out series along with it, so now it’s just one picture (and not showing the variety I was talking about). It would only work in a series of other skin types and imperfections (not even imperfections, just as long as it’s an unaltered photograph) of people – some who have more birthmarks and bumps or whatever, some who have less, etc. Thanks for making me realize :) I just threw this test thing on here without realizing that this actually the debunks whole point a little, lol. -- source link
