purgetroopercody: So lately Star Wars has been showing us a lot of material cultural diversity for the Tuskens, and it’s pretty awesome. The Tuskens in The Book of Boba Fett (second from top) dress differently and make different style dwellings from the ones in Attack of the Clones (top.) In the group that Boba Fett meets, nobody dresses like the women and children do from AotC. (See concept artist Dermot Power’s illustration and this other one.) They also wear different fabrics from the AotC Tuskens, who more resemble both the Tuskens in A New Hope and the ones in The Mandalorian (bottom two), and might also have a unique style of gaffi stick. The Tuskens in The Mandalorian are all shown to be dressed the same. The group in AotC seems to uphold a distinction between men, women, and children in how they dress, but that might not be true for the Tuskens that Din meets. It’s also possible that they do maintain a distinction but we never saw women and children on camera for whatever reason. (There are likely other possibilities I haven’t thought of!) This group also makes homes that look much more similar to those of the AotC Tuskens, but the outer covering is of a different material (compare bottom and top pics.)It’s neat to see what aspects stay the same here– keeping banthas and massifs, completely covering the head with their distinctive wear, building dwellings that can be easily set up and taken back down again, etc. MATERIAL CULTURAL DIVERSITY YES! I loved the darker fabrics we saw and the range of weapons! -- source link
