brbnightmares:For the last several years, the internet has turned into an immeasurable barrage of messages, t-shirts, and beer cozies touting the nobility of male facial hair. We are expected to honor its variety, its history. Beards are the new mullet. Every man has them for now, but in 10 years we’ll all LOL, and cry about how we don’t know what any of our ex-boyfriends actually looked like.It is backwards to characterize facial hair as an affectation, and bare faces as default. Men have had beards much longer than they have not. Hair is natural–for most men, and many women. Depilation is the contrivance.Lamenting that you won’t know what your men actually look like WITHOUT the beard is similar to a man saying he doesn’t know what his woman “really” looks like with makeup. As for the mullet analogy, that’s just fashion. That’s basically the whole post. A.L.W.P. by the comment on the British. -- source link
