profoundlyentangled: Mae Whitman in The Factory (2013). In this movie, Mae plays a young woman who is kidnapped by a serial killer who holds women captive as his ‘wives,’ as her detective father (John Cusack) races to find her before it’s too late. Here, we see poor Mae chained up and gagged as her captor fashions a ‘wedding ring’ for her from scrap metal–and welds it shut right on her finger! A “wedding” in multiple senses of the word. Later on, one of the killer’s other captives enters to taunt Mae (and unfortunately also un-gags her). This scene was a really pleasant surprise for me. I think Mae is gorgeous, and being as her most famous non-voice roles are as Roxy Richter in Scott Pilgrim vs. the World and Ann Veal in Arrested Development, her starring in a movie like this is very unexpected, as is her having such an intense, visceral bondage scene. -- source link
