Emerald Be3Al2(SiO3)6::Cr - 9.CJ.05 (Strunz)(from Bogota, Colombia [rough], from Minas Gerais, Brazil [cut]) Emerald is a variety of the mineral called beryl, it contains chromium and vanadium, which give it its characteristic emerald green color. The big one, is a Colombian Emerald Rough, but is less clear than the other.
