2.00pm: Corner house viewing 2.30pm: Inter-terrace house viewing 3.15pm: Wedding dress appointment The Aisle 4.00pm: Wedding dress appointment Bqueens We have an exciting Saturday planned. While nothing has been pinned down in terms of wedding plans, dates, etc I think we are making some good progress. To be perfectly honest, I’m pretty pysched about house hunting and the sliver of possibility that we could get a landed spot if the housing market takes a downturn. Is it weird that I’m hoping for a mini crisis? We don’t need a huge house - in fact I think we would both be pretty good at a fixer-upper. We painted my floor to ceiling cabinets previously and worked well together. He’s hands on with fixing things and engineering while I like to think that I’m pretty good at stretching the dollar and selecting items. On top of that, he’s equipped with his new Stanley homeowner’s tools (christmas present!) and I have my sewing machine - bring the wood, screws and curtains on! I guess this anticipation to start our lives together in a cosy abode feels nice. There’s so much to look forward to together - it feels refreshing to come to a phase in life where I’m willing to give up exotic travels and hotel stays for a warm little place to call my own. I’m not asking for luxurious drapes or designer leather sofas - I’m happy with a little single storey, restored simply. With so many modern buildings, I actually crave something older with a bit of character. Instead of knocking everything down, I’d rather find ways to work around the existing to keep the character of the space. My imagination and thoughts make me happy - oh that little airwell, mini courtyard, open kitchen, simple patio, lush hanging greens. But my mind does the math and calculations, the correct price to execute, the market factors and research, in-principle approvals required, negotiation tactics - it runs wild with analysis and checklists. I can’t help it - it will be a stretch but oddly enough, I’ve never felt more eager to spend my whole savings on one item. If you want to follow my super strictly curated home ‘moodboard’ - its at gdmrnghome.tumblr.com Here I only post the things which I’ve purchased for my home and the style which will definitely be used in my dream home. I’ve saved tons of pictures but narrowed and refined it down to these looks. So here’s to prayers for the right place at the right price. -- source link
