Well the make up and eye lenses anyway. I think the black suit would look good if it had more detail to it instead of being so plain. To me the worst redesign is Joker. He needed his red lips I agree with you. The lack of details was the main problem. It would have looked better if they had added anything. For examples white stitches, like in Michelle Pfeiffer’s costume from Batman ReturnsAs of the Joker, the thing that I disliked even more than the lack of red lips, were those weird black eyes with white dots. He looked more like some sort of undead or twinky fairy, than a creepy clownThankfully they’ve RE-redesigned him for Justice League Unlimited and kept that look for Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker. Agreed! The stitches would of been purrrrfect. It’s funny they gave her blonde hair in the first design and in the redesign her costume looks like it’s based on the movie but without the stitches. Both selina and Catwoman had their looks inspired by it lol.Yeah I forgot about the eyes! They look so much better for the other redesign. I wonder what they were thinking when they made that lol Yeah, that was the funny thing about Selina’s design.Batman TAS - Michelle Pfeiffer’s looks and an original (?) costume Batman TAS New Adventures - comic book looks and Michelle Pfeiffer’s costume, but VERY simplified.Nevertheless the show has still my favourite iterations of Batman and his entire rouge gallery.Although, I also enjoyed the quirky designs and personalities in The Batman from 2004.Even though Selina looked more like a fruit bat, than a catAnd Joker was… some sort of demented… mix of a jack in the box and a chimp I guess. Agreed BTAS is perfect in so many ways. I am forever grateful to Paul Dini for his amazing g Co tributions to Batman mythos. The cartoon, his original characters like Harley, his comics and of course the first two arkham games. I love that man.Yeah I was not a fan of The Batman’s take on catwoman and joker. Although I kind of digged joker’s straight jacket costume. He kind of reminded me of a rat though, with his teeth and eyes. It was still great and fun show though. Poison Ivy with her rose hair and blowing kisses was kind of cool. Babs with her purple outfit and big eyes masks was great And I adore the Harley look. I think the bigger head piece, lens mask, and the chains to the neck were amazing. Honestly it might be my favorite look for her. The dark red instead of black was fine even if I prefer the black. I’ve watched her debut episode more then any other in the cartoon lol The Batman was woefully underrated. It also has my favorite Poison Ivy design outside of the comics. Her hair is super cool, and I also like how they made her part of Barbara Gordon’s backstory. Wasn’t The Batman the one where they got Aquaman calling everyone “Chum” and got away with it? I think you’re thinking of The Brave and the Bold. I don’t believe Aquaman appeared in The Batman. The Batman was possibly the biggest victim of what I call the Batman TAS Effect. It was a solid series, but because the previous iteration was SO excellent it was never gonna get a fair shake on its own merits. Everything was constantly compared to TAS and since it wasn’t as good or even just because it was different it got looked down on. Legend of Korra suffered the same fate. Yeah it was brave and bold, which was also solid. And I just can’t get into a burly joker. he’s got to be a stick boi. Still not a terrible series by any means though. I actually really liked Raver Joker. Not least because of Richardson’s excellent performance. The Batman had this really weird issue with villains where they either had a REALLY good visual design or they had really good characterization. But almost never one or the other both.Examples for the former: Freeze. Amazing design, visually striking. But in the series he’s literally just a jewel thief and nothing else. He’s not a tragic character, he’s just a greedy bastard who wants diamonds.Penguin. Good design, solid silhouette. For some reason they made him a martial artist who could go toe-to-toe with Batman in a fist fight.Examples of the latter:Joker. One of the better depictions of the character with an equal mix of malice and goofiness. Kevin Richardson’s amazing performance brought a manic, humorous edge to the character that could flip instantly to violence or sadism. And yet he looks like someone spliced Joker with gorilla DNA. His design got better with the suit over the hobo look, but not by much.Riddler. A character who tends to be actually intelligent and who has an insanely sympathetic and relatable backstory, voiced by Robert Englund (Freddy) is a really solid take on the character. And yet he looks like an extremely dated, early 2000′s Marilyn Manson rip-off.The only ones they didn’t manage to bungle one or the other were typically very simple characters who didn’t need much characterization or whose design was very hard to mess up: Black Mask, Man-Bat or Firefly, for example.Edit: Fixed a mistake in the opening. -- source link
