e-codices: Scene from “Labors of the month March” on Flickr. March Labors of the month March are usually represented by scenes of men working in the field trimming the vine. Sometimes there is only one person, and in other cases there are up to four or more persons. In these scenes, they are depicted cutting old stems or branches with hatches or blades. In some cases, the scene represents men who are not only trimming plants, but generally attending to plants and holding vine stems in their hands. Often, the scene depicts men with shovels with which they turn the earth, or in other instances, they are shown plowing or sowing. Link to the “Labors of the month March” set.
