thatfunkyopossum: thatfunkyopossum: A very fast and very confused timeline of Ashoka Tano’s montrals/lekku, apparently?????? If youre one of the folks who have responded to this with “they couldnt do a design that made ANY sense with her chonology because theres no way she could do flips/complex choreography/spins with long practical lekku” pls consider that they literally didn’t have her doing flips or intense spins or super complex choreography anyway? And even if they wanted her to, here’s the solution! Two headpieces: one for slow non-action scenes that is the full Montrals and Lekku, just like Shaak Ti’s makeup. Maybe have outside support structures that attach to her torso that could be digitally painted out so that she can move her head freely without worrying about her hat popping off. The second for action scenes thats JUST the montrals and parts framing her face, possibly some stiff weighted cord to act as motion reference. Animators add in her lekku in post and animate them so they move with weight and flexibility, but fudge the physics enough that they don’t get sliced off by her lightsabers. If you think that would look weird, i promise you amost certainly wouldnt notice because animators shift physics to work for the scene’s requirements ALL the time. Not every head attatchment animation is an MMD physics simulation you dorks. Alternatively: she could have just tied her lekku back for the fight scenes. Like, that was an option. -- source link
