Hope you like bats and birds.i do, i would like to crouch amongst the bats and birdsThere is a lot of space to crouch there, and for that matter to stand and stretch out if you should wish to do so (lurking by standing up tall near to a stalagmite is effective). One of my favourite places in the world.True fact: My husband proposed to me in Carlsbad Caverns (actually in the cave, not at the entrance here.) I later told him that he was really brave, since we were a 30 minute walk back to the entrance; it would have been reeeeeal awkward if I said no. Lololol. This would be a wicked cart track. But fuck walking back up. Most people dont. There’s an elevator in one of the “rooms.” That most people use to get back up. Is it an “only in America” thing where an elevator is built into a cavern so people don’t need to walk out?Its to make it wheelchair accessible. As a national park, they have an obligation to make at least part of the caverns ADA compliant. -- source link
