By Agamemnon, she was mother to Iphigenia, Electra and Orestes. Her anger towards Agamemnon started with his murder of Iphigenia in order to please Artemis and sail to Troy. Once he returned to Mycenae, Clytemnestra murdered him in the bath in revenge . She met her own end at the hands of her other children, Electra and Orestes.→ Helen - Daughter of Leda of Sparta and Zeus. When she was younger, she was kidnapped by Theseus of Athens, however, her brothers invaded Athens and brought her home. Helen is best known for her beauty - Aphrodite offered her as a prize to Paris of Troy in the contest for the golden apple. Paris accepted the goddess’ bribe and under the guise of a diplomatic mission, travelled to Sparta and broke the sacred code of xenia by taking Helen to Troy, starting the Trojan War.→ Penelope - Daughter of the nymph Periboea and Icarius of Sparta, brother of Tyndareos. Her marriage to Odysseus came to be when the latter came to Tyndareos and offered a solution to the problem of Helen’s suitors. In return, Tyndareos supported Odysseus’ bid to marry Penelope. Because of the Trojan War, Penelope and her son Telemachos, spent 20 years without Odysseus.
