medicine-nerd: homoglobinopathy: alpha-troublemaker: cayden-carter: I finally have the ‘guts’ to show the world my stoma. The red circle shown is my small intestine that was brought to the surface of my body. This way output comes out of here and into a bag as opposed to traveling down my colon and rectum, which are still healing. It’s been over a month since my last surgery, and all seems to be a success in the urine department. I had a doctors appointment today, and the hole in my colon is either still there and soooo much smaller, or its gone and what’s left is just a scab. I never thought I would be able to empty the ileostomy bag. I can. I never thought I would be able to change the bag on my own. I can. I never thought I would be confident enough to show everyone one. I am. yes ^_^ This is so great! The anons that have been hating on you over this post can all suck it. Do you! This is great. Cuddos to you! I had patients being very afraid of this because of the stigma, and when they tried it after all they became so proud after a certain time because it is there to make you healthy and you become the expert on a special medical thing. You are doing so great. -- source link
