These are the final results after I have photoshopped all of the picture to show the abnormalities of the human body and successfully most of the pictures have made people either uncomfortable or have made them cringe.I wanted to create these images to break the stigma of a human body has to be perfect or that a human body can only have basic flaws. I wanted to deliver images that make people uncomfortable and see the human body in a different perspective.Picture 1 delivers the feeling of unexpectedness. Each hole in the human body has a certain function. What I believe made the viewers uncomfortable because a socket clearly made for eyeballs produced a long tongue. The misplacement of the body parts is what made people uncomfortable. I believe this picture successfully delivers the feeling of how the basic human body can be abnormal.Picture 2’s point was to show how every part of the human body does a certain function and how it is easy to change that by manipulating the photo to change the message a picture can create. Usually, a mouth delivers or send out a message while eyes receive images and take in a message. I wanted to switch that and as a result the image still gives off an abnormal vibe.Picture 3 was the most successful in making those who saw it shiver and/or cringe. Putting nostrils instead of eyes made a lot of people uncomfortable at the image because the do not want to see holes where they are not supposed to be. One person even said the picture seems to trigger her trypophobia. This image has been the most successful to make those who have seen it uncomfortable and believe the human body can be changed so easily through simple manipulation to go from attractive as the original portrait was to almost “ugly”.Picture 4’s aim was to create unbalance in the human body. that is even why I didn’t photoshop a foot on each wrist. I wanted to create a person who does not have balance and who is abnormal despite having both limbs attached to her body. A foot is not a weird body part, but simple misplacing it and putting onto an arm instead of a leg. Picture 5 was created to show how two things that usually identify people, finger prints and their faces, cannot have the same function if switches. A person can be identified in a hospital or a police station through his/her finger print, but most people on the street would identify others according to their faces. What creates a factor of abnormality here is the fact that while both serve the same function, when switching the body parts, it looks kind of funny actually and out of place. Finger pads are usually smooth, while a face is full of complexities and bumps, so placing a face on a finger tip felt out of place and wrong instead of serving the function it should.Picture 6’s point was to make the human body inhuman. Even animals have heads, so photoshopping my model’s lower half on her lower half to make he become a creature instead of person is what deliver the abnormal factor in this photo. People who saw this image did not know if this creature would go left or right when it moved, despite it simply being two pairs of legs stuck together, but the result was seen in a completely different light; it was seen as distorted and “wrong”. -- source link
