Sometimes I am overwhelmed by this life here. The beauty of this place is all powerful from blowing snow over the roads on a 0 degree day to the warmth of a late spring morning on the edge of the unofficial start to summer. The cherry blossoms bending to the gentle southwesterly wind that brings just the nip of chill from the lake that won’t warmup till late July. Then on to the late fading days of summer where the rye blows golden in the rolling hills that overlook the Manitou islands. Finally to the sweet golden days of late October and early November where the trees reveal their true colors to us just before becoming bare again. It is all beautiful. All of it precious and so easily missed. One storm can blow these blooms away and in a month or so the fruit will be shaken from them. A fleeting moment in our daily lives.
