The finished sketch from this afternoon. I started reading Color and Light by @jamesgurneyart to try and help me conquer tricky colors. Feels like and uphill battle right now but I know if I stick with it things will eventually click! This still life is trickier than it looks because you are dealing both with reflections and white/off white in shadow. I think when i started out painting years ago my values were very desaturated and monochromatic. Now i feel like im over compensating with slightly over chromatic colors. One day I will find the balence!
