The evening in honour of Professor Young’s meteoric academic achievement was waning towards tomorrow when a close colleague privately asked the Professor if he had any regrets? “Yes,” the Professor said. “There is one.” He looked thoughtfully, “I should have made time for a family.”The colleague simply raised his glass, “yes Frederick, you should.” Lightning struck Frederick in those words and suddenly his world shifted.His mind shot back to the day before when Professor Young had put Laura over his lap. The twenty three year old Graduate Student he recently hired had earned a spanking for something important enough to administer discipline at the time, but trivial enough that he now couldn’t recall her crime.
