In the newly released images from BBC, I know each location (even if approximately) and what’s happening in each image (again, even if approximately). I know absolutely nothing as to where this is and what’s happening!This is series TWO scarf.I thought the building looked like the ones around the bonfire scene. But from the available (and those I sampled) photos, it doesn’t look so. (Do correct me if I am wrong!)The trees are bare => winter. TRF ended in June (or July). So this is either a shot from earlier in the series or from during hiatus. The only time we had winter in series 2 was in A Scandal in Belgravia. (Possibly Hound, but let’s not get into timeline debate.) And it’s really really unlikely that this was shot then. It couldn’t have been shot during series 2 as the entire series was shot from May-August, so trees couldn’t have been bare. So this must have been shot earlier in series 3 (bonfire scene has bare trees). So this is a connecting shot. Which means it happens after the Fall, during hiatus.Assuming this location is England, this could be after Sherlock has returned from wherever he has been, or could be he has been there all along (rather too far fetched conclusion, yes).Where are you, Sherlock, and what are you upto? THANK YOU FOR THIS. (For many reasons…been going down into a sinkhole of despair re this show lately and this kind of ‘setlocking’ helps to bring me out!)I’ve been thinking about this picture too, thinking it was the bonfire scene but not being sure. In one of the recent BC interviews they asked him if you see what he’s been up to during the hiatus and he says “you’ll see, you’ll see!” and I kinda take that to mean “yes.” Also, Gatiss has been talking about “hiding in plain sight” and how that’s more interesting, and I’m willing to go out on a limb here: I think they’re going to show us some scenes of the hiatus, and I don’t think he will have left London (and I’m thinking ivyblossom will have won the fic contest here for fic most accurately predicting the actual episodes of series 3!) If it’s true that Sherlock’s been “hiding in plain sight” around London, I wonder if John’s been almost-seeing him from time to time, maybe explaining why he feels haunted, or keeps seeing “Sherlock lookalikes” everywhere. If any of this is true, I just hope there’s a good explanation for why Sherlock is doing this and never letting John know he’s alive. -- source link
