barlowstreet:fatphobiabusters:thisisthinprivilege:Another thing about Old Navy: Note that they use predominantly REAL LIVE HUMAN WOMEN to model their straight sizes, and creepy inhuman mannequin bodies to model the plus sizes. Cuz hey, fat ladies only have one good pose anyway, and it’s not like they need to see how the clothing moves and flows, right? Also note the non-sale prices of the items: The same exact black dress with pink ribbon belt is $36.94 for plus sizes, and $26.94 for straight sizes (a 37% markup). The fun thing about this is that the smallest plus size overlaps with the largest straight size, which means you’d be paying 37% more for the same damn thing when it’s labeled ‘plus size.‘ Stuff like this literally makes me insane!!!! How can they say a size XXL needs to be more??Wait, you wanna know something wild? A lot of Old Navy stuff goes up to an XXL in the straight sizes and it’s pretty much the same size as a 2X. I wear both.So not only do you get things like this And again, I can wear an XXL from Old Navy usually, but I can’t wear a 1XBut you also get thisSo if I buy a straight size 20, it’ll be 18 dollars, but a plus size 16 costs more.PLEASE someone explain that! -- source link
