The Yellow Crane Tower at Wuhan. China, 1871. This, the last of the ‘authentic’ towers, was destroyed by fire in 1884. Not one thing visible in this photograph now remains. Part of the Wuhan Yangtze River bridge now covers the site. A new tower (of 1985) stands 1 mile away. -- source link
