“Happiness, to me, is less interesting than melancholy. I enjoy seeing vulnerability, I find raw beauty in sadness and have a strong passion for the broken. It’s always the bittersweet feeling that makes a difference. You love something because you’ve lost it and if you had it back, you wouldn’t realize the importance of it. I like to think a lot, and if I find satisfaction in my daily life doing simple happy things, I wouldn’t necessarily want to talk about them. Because as beautiful as they can be, easy things also tend to be boring in the end. I want to hear about the traumas and the unsolved puzzles.” @zhenmatangi with her visual and written take on melancholy. The artist writes further: “The most beautiful feeling is the feeling of looking at a picture, knowing that you will never ever get that moment back. The most beautiful feeling is the feeling of bittersweet sadness and happiness, realizing that this life is the only one you have… Being this particular self.” posted on Instagram - https://instagr.am/p/CSvUJ2xhSGp/ -- source link
