flutiebear:magesmagesmages:verysharpteeth:willowfae82:annakie:Step this way, Miss Mills. (x)I just. I can’t with you, Ichabod. You and your chivalry, and your Perfect Fucking Form. I mean, look at him. The arm tucked behind his back; hand held out for her to grasp; but he doesn’t curl his around hers (it would be considered too familiar), he keeps his whole body straight, in a line, until she passes. Mad Props to Tom Mison for pulling this off. Many other actors would have been sloppy with it. Christ; I bet if he’d had a spare coat, or blanket he’d have put it down for her to step on.P.S. What’s up with the matching clothes? Gray/green shirt, black pants, black boots? Why do you tax me this way. I can’t.I love that Abbie, as independent modern woman as she is, accepts Ichabod’s chivalry too. Because she knows he values her as a person and treats her as the most equal of equals. His chivalry is borne out of respect for Abbie and wanting to treat her well. It’s old fashioned, maybe, but very well intentioned. And very, very respectful. He also makes it look unconscious and I really love how Abbie is kind of… surprised but also flattered. That expression in the second gif is very much “I’m getting respect here and I kinda like it even if I feel a bit silly” and it’s just… so much the whole relationship and I love it.Just to add to the excellent comments above: When have you ever, ever seen a black woman as the recipient of a white guy’s chivalry in modern media? I mean, it’s rare enough to see a white male character give a black woman as much obvious respect as Crane gives Abbie, but even on top of that I’ve never seen a story in which a white guy actually applies a code of chivalry to a black woman. Super cool. -- source link
