spooniestrong:soberscientistlife: No truer words ever spoken And yet… they neglect both. I have ADHD and am a wheelchair user. I was denied simple accomodations (a day extension on projects) that would help me in college. I developed a chronic illness and failed out. I asked the same guy who denied me that simple ADHD accomodation if I could come back as a part-time student and live on campus (which is explicitly prohibited by school policy) and was fully welcomed back. While I agree as a wheelchair user that ableism against us is still rampant, there are a lot of people fully willing to accomodate visibly disabled people who wouldn’t do the same for an invisibly or mentally disabled person, and I think that’s important to recognize. -- source link
