Oh my gosh this was like over two years ago wasn’t itI managed to do my final project in my mythology seminar about Twitch Plays Pokemon. They beat the Elite Four like four days before I had to present. I talked about how this massive community kinda insta-formed with the common shared cultural background of Pokemon and (mostly) Christian mythology, and now shared the same forum and series of events, and pretty much insta-created a complex and involved cultural mythology, complete with myths, ideologies, heroes, villains, legends, gods, demons, mythical rumors about life after death, and a shit ton of really good fanart, including the Church of Helix Choir.
