Let’s start off our #JLMyureioftheday series with a yurei called ubume. Ubume are said to be the ghosts of women who died during childbirth. During their haunting, they carry bundle of cloth that is supposedly their baby, and ask a stranger for help by carrying it for them. Afterwards, the ubume will disappear, leaving the stranger with the baby, which would turn out to be just very heavy rocks.
