Teddy, who longs for death’s cold embrace. No, not really. But I did hear a story about people who have cats with his condition (cerebral hypoplasia) who are advised to have their pets put to sleep because of their condition…. When the people refuse, the VET REPORTS THEM FOR ANIMAL ABUSE.Now, I’m not unrealistic. I know that there are times where putting an animal down is the right thing to do. It’s hard, but if an animal is genuinely suffering then, yeah. I had to do that with my previous cat who had cancer in her mouth. I wasn’t going to let her starve to death because eating was so painful. No.But cats like Teddy are not suffering. CH affects balance. Teddy isn’t severe. He can get around just fine, but he’s clumsy. There are cats, like Lil Bub, who need their bladder manually expressed and who has very limited mobility (although she has improved recently, thank god). There are animals who need special diets and wheelchairs and inhalers. If someone is willing to care for an animal with special needs PROPERLY, then FUCK YOU IT’S NOT ANIMAL ABUSE.Animals are not people. They don’t have pride like we do. If they lose a limb, they deal with it. They aren’t ashamed. Teddy can’t jump on the counters like my other cats, I really doubt he cries about it at night. Teddy gets an inhaler daily, the other cats at school aren’t picking on him about it.If an animals isn’t in crazy daily pain and gets proper treatment, then yeah it’s not abuse. Some vets need to get out of the mindset of “something is wrong with this animal, lets put it down” and realize that that isn’t always the best choice. SORRY FOR RANTING ABOUT ANIMALS NO IM NOT SORRY. -- source link
