Wes Archer)A lesser show would simply have Bart find Otto sitting on the street and have him explain the situation (which we’ve just come from) but not here. The Simpsons has Apu push Bart into purchasing a ridiculous squishee flavor (Chutney just doesn’t work as a drink) therefore giving him a reason to toss it in the trash outside and result in him discovering Otto’s situation. Even then, we don’t get a poor expositional retread of events, Bart asks if Otto is living in a Dumpster and we have a discussion about the type of trash receptical he’s actually living in (a trash-co waste disposal unit) instead. Smart writing which respects the audience, why on earth has that gone out of fashion?Good questions. -- source link
