They don’t yet fully grasp that you see, think, and experience different things than they do; therefore, if they can’t see you, you can’t see them. Or, sometimes, if they don’t WANT you to see them, you can’t see them. Kids this age will also sometimes try to, for example, show you a picture by holding it up so *they* can see it, or get upset if you insist that you haven’t seen/read a movie/book that they have. -- source link
