flavoracle:Elspeth, Soul Guide [DISCLAIMER: THIS IS A CUSTOM CARD, NOT A LEAK OR SPOILER] OK, so for those of you who haven’t seen it yet, there is a new Planeswalker Poster from Wizards of the Coast that features over a hundred images of planeswalkers from Magic: the Gathering, and a few of those images are art that we’ve never seen before!! Probably my favorite of all those images is some new art of Elspeth, returning from the underworld of Theros, and looking absolutely amazing! There’s a LOT of things I want to say about this art and what I think it could mean for one of my all-time favorite planeswalkers, but that would take more time than I can devote to a post right now. So I decided that instead I would create a quick custom card mock-up that captures some of my thoughts, and let that speak for itself for now. Let me know what you think! Also, HEY @elspethsunschampion COME LOOK!! Elspeth, Knight of Rising OK, so this my second draft of a custom planeswalker based on the new Elspeth art. HUGE thanks to @ghost-y for providing feedback on the first draft! In my first draft, I had tried to show Elspeth as someone who had conquered death and was now a master of it. In this second draft I tried to shift the focus to show her as someone who had punched Death right in the face, beat the snot out of Death, and then shouted “DON’T MESS WITH ME OR MY SMALL ARMY BABIES EVER AGAIN!!” as Death cowered on the floor in front of her. So what do you think of draft 2?
