Ianto probably has to go around carefully gluing one to everything in the Hub. I can picture the conversation at the factory:“Hey, Joe, have you got those five thousand ‘Torchwood’ signs stamped yet? I’m supposed to deliver them today.”“Shh, Bob, that order is supposed to be secret. Nobody is supposed to know about Torchwood.”“Uh… you mean that weird group down by the Quay who keeps ordering bulk ‘Torchwood’ labels, from a torchwood.co.uk email address, and paying for them with a credit card registered in the name of Torchwood? That Torchwood?”“Yeah, but don’t say anything. They get tetchy about it.”“Okay, but if it’s a big secret, how am I supposed to deliver the order?”“Just take them to the dropoff location listed on the form. They’ll pick them up.”“What, like a blind drop? What if someone steals the merchandise?”“Oh, you can stay and keep an eye on them. Just stand around and look casual and pretend you don’t know what’s inside the boxes.”“But how do I know if the right person picks them up?”“It’ll be the big car says ‘TORCHWOOD’ on both sides.”“…Seriously?”“Yup. But don’t stare too much, or they’ll try to erase your memory.”“Wait, can they do that?”“Nah, they’ll just give you an aspirin and tell you you’ll forget everything you’ve seen. If it happens, just play along and look a bit dazed until they drive off. We’ve all had our memories ‘erased’ a few times. It makes them feel more ‘secret,’ so they keep buying from our company.
