does anyone else besides the moderator/s here at web1995 feel strangely moved by lower-quality or smaller images archived on old or inactive websites? this is a .jpg of the painting How Sir Galahad. Sir Bors, and Sir Percival were fed with the Sanc Grael; But Sir Percival’s Sister Died Along the Way (1864) by Dante Gabriel Rossetti. it can be viewed at higher resolution here on wikipedia. the above version of the image is hosted at Jalynka’s Home Page, in the section of the site dedicated to arthurian legend. it is linked on the “arthurian artwork” page among other similar images: Below, I have gathered some beautiful and interesting examples of Arthurian inspired artwork. Right now, I don’t know how to make thumbnails, so I have made a separate link for each picture, to save downloading time. I do not own copyrights to any of these pictures, so feel free to use them- just don’t use up my bandwidth by making a link back here. If you own the copyright, please let me know.Eventually, I hope to be able to scan my own pictures, but for now I have to glean them all from other Internet sources. according to the homepage, Jalynka’s site was created June 15, 2000. the thoughtfulness and effort required to share an image at the time of creating this website are really something to recall, when currently it is simple enough to search for the highest quality version of just about any image. this version of the image was carefully saved from another site’s page, which seems to no longer exist, and preserved here as part of a quiet, fragmented collection. thoughtfulness like this makes us thoughtful in turn about how images are shared currently, and in general respectful of the effort put into curating low-quality .jpgs on websites like Jalynka’s -- source link
