I gave up on the idea of being conventionally “attractive” when I was about 14. No matter what I did or didn’t do to my face, hair or school uniform, I was never one of the pretty (or later “hot”) girls at school.Instead of seeing that as a loss, eventually I just came around to the conclusion that it meant I could kind of look and do and wear whatever the fuck I wanted, like wear boys clothes or shave off all my hair, life somehow got better with that knowledge because I stopped caring if I impressed people or not.
