copperbadge:Someone has been running around Chicago, changing Don’t Walk signal lights into solidarity fists. It’s extremely clever – I spent about 10 minutes puzzling out how it’s done, and it’s both beautiful and beautifully simple, especially since it doesn’t interrupt the normal regulation of the Walk signal or disrupt public safety. When I see innovation like this, I often stop and think, what could they achieve if they didn’t have to fight to exist? It’s been a long, hard week, especially with everything closed because of the protests. Nevertheless, I stand in solidarity with protestors. Imagine the art they could make if they didn’t have to waste their time demanding the right to exist without violence. Someday I hope to see that museum. [Description: A photograph of a Walk/Don’t Walk signal in downtown Chicago, which has been modified to show an upraised red fist.
