That would be your mistake, then. Why wouldn’t you travel by main roads? It’s hard to make a living on main roads. And you desperately need money for new clothes. Two more beers. More and more I find monsters wherever I go.@reinvent-and-believeListen @bards-rights-activist I stay in a perpetual state of shooketh when it comes to Renfri.Like when they’re fighting and she says “They created me just as they created you. We’re not so different!”Like…they created her as in they made her what she is by raping and beating and tracking and trying to kill her for years, they made her cold and ruthless. Just as they created Geralt to be a witcher, subjecting him to torture and abuse and constant mistreatment and scorn. But they also created the mythos surrounding her, they created Shrike, the legends of her killing and impaling people for fun rather than in self-defense. Just as they created the Butcher of Blaviken—he killed those men, sure, but it was in an attempt to save the innocents in the marketplace. They’re both subjected to outright, formative violence, but they’re also both publicly smeared and villainized.Which is why I love this first scene between them so much. She’s just met him, and she just…treats him like a person, talks to him like an equal, flirts a little, and he seems totally thrown off by it.My poor sad babies -- source link
