The coffin is depicting how the spirit is to remain alive through the twelve hours of day and twelve hours of night, faces the 42 judges of the underworld by proving her innocence, and the endowment of the power of the gods and goddesses of Egypt so she may become divine in the afterlife. They make mummies for two reasons, to resemble the Osiris resurrection, where he is chopped up by his brother Set or Seth, here they remove all the organs, and then two they believed that if anything happened to the body the vital life force, or Ka, or spirit would be unable to survive in the after life.
