astoryofalove:I am convinced that the FFVII x Mobius collab was created just to show clerith. Seriously, this game confirms the biggest and most important Clerith argument that we’ve been talking about for 20 years. Please read on to see why. When you have Aerith’s job class hooked up to Meia, during battle, Echo will say “ 約束の地見つけてね”. @makanani helped translate it for us and it says “ The Promised Land, please find it!” (alternate translation is “Find the Promised Land!”).If you remember, Cloud’s storyline heavily focused on him finding the Promised Land, as well. Although never explicitly said, the game clearly depicts that when Cloud finds the crystal Aerith’s theme begins to play in the background. After, Cloud says the crystal is a “warm and gentle light / 優しくて……….暖かい光だ”, Echo then informs him that it will lead him to the Promised Land (あなたたちの「 約束の地 」へ行ける), in which Cloud tells Echo and Wol that he’s going to take the journey. Later on, it’s revealed that the player can obtain Aerith’s “Umbrella” weapon, which the player unlocks with an item called ”gentle light" /「 仄かな光 」 The crystal, i.e. the “warm and gentle light”, will lead Cloud to the Promised Land. The item box titled “gentle light” rewards the player with Aerith’s weapon, Umbrella. The symbolism here is all about the “gentle light” leading Cloud to Aerith. The second image you see, says this: 「ね、クラウド。わたし、あなたを探してる」 「あなたに・・・会いたい」“Cloud… I’m searching for you. I want to meet you.”So, not only do we see Cloud trying to get to the Promised Land, as well as Aerith’s Mage job class referencing going to the Promised Land, too, but Cloud and Aerith’s date is ALSO referenced in this cameo event as well. While definitely worth getting excited over just because it’s included, there’s a more important message about this specific quote being included in the event. The reason this is significant is because it’s Aerith saying that she wants to “meet” Cloud. Again, Mobius tells us that Cloud wants to find the Promised Land, Aerith’s theme song playing during the conclusion of the event alludes to the player that Cloud’s reason to find the Promised Land is because of Aerith. But it’s Aerith’s “ I want to meet you “ as well as Echo telling the Aerith-clad Meia to “find the Promised Land” that confirms all of it.Meia’s “Midgar Flower vendor” card even depicts the “Aerith”-Meia standing in a field of yellow flowers (canola flowers, it seems).A flower field that looks very similar to the flower field we see in Advent Children’s credits, where Aerith is seen waiting and Cloud is seen driving through. As well as in FF Type-0:「最後 の幻想」 “Last dream” 花畑に佇む男女。 “A man and woman stand in a flower field.” 異世界 の幻想風景。 “Dream scenery of another world” It’s worth mentioning that Mobius’ story even opens up with this summary: “What it is that you love?”While Kitase and Nojima said they created this specific story in order to provide a story with an “emotional impact” on FFVII fans. Mobius is, without a doubt, about Cloud and Aerith finding each other in the Promised Land and I am praying that we get to see Cloud and Aerith’s reunion in the FFVII Remake, as well.If you haven’t downloaded Mobius yet, please go and do so and start playing. You can even play on Steam now. We just need to show Square Enix that clerith fans are thankful for this game and that we will continue to support them for all of the wonderful clerith fanservice they’ve provided us over the years. It’s important that they know the clerith fanbase is large and active. -- source link
