mushroomgay: New JerseyYellow patches (Amanita flavoconia)These lovely photos were sent in by @carlitosantana, who found it in New Jersey. It’s instantly recognisable as an amanita because of the volval remains around the base - what’s left of the egg-like structure from which amanitas emerge. The distinctive long, skirt-like stem ring distinguishes it from other ornge mnits such as the Grisettes, the orange grisette (Amanita crocea) and the tawny grisette (Amanita fulva), which both lose their stem rings quickly as they mature. -- source link
