boss-of-the-plains:wonderbreadaviation:boss-of-the-plains:wonderbreadaviation:thelandofmaps:1603 Americans were asked which state has the worst scenery. Here are the results. [1199x818]CLICK HERE FOR MORE MAPS!thelandofmaps.tumblr.comThis is true, fuck KansasThey asked mountain obsessed city slickers. And honestly, fuck y'all. I’ve been to damn near every state in this country at least twice and what I have discovered is that Kansas is not the flattest one there is and most certainly not one to be discounted in its scenery. The summer and spring sunsets are more beautiful than those I’ve seen off the coasts of Hawaii, West Florida, and California. It really is like a water color painted sky. The dust of harvest time sweeping across the open plains is one thing you just have to experience. The hills and valleys that go unnoticed are the saddest part. Everywhere you look you see flat. But if you actually go onto that land, walk a mile or two, you may find a deep ravine you didn’t even know was there. The wild winds blowing across the prairies looks like waves in an endless sea of grass. Gently sloping and rolling hills in the North pose for great hunting opportunities for the optimistic hunter and give way to exceptional hiking. Cheyenne Bottoms speaks for itself. Be you a waterfowl hunter or an avid bird watcher, these bodies of water are the largest inland marshes in the world. Thousands of species of birds pass through here during their migrations in early spring and fall. It’s like nothing you’ve ever seen before. Then there are the spring and summer storms. You’ve not experienced Kansas lightning. It puts any and every fireworks show to shame. The clear night skies by Cheney lake are home to many observatories. If you look up on any clear night, with the lack of city lighting siding with you, you’re likely to see a good number of shooting stars, along with every other star in the sky. There’s so much to see and do here. The only one who could say my Kansas is ugly is either uneducated on the matter, or simply ignorant.I’m in Kansas broSo what you’re telling me is you live in Kansas but you’ve never really experienced your own state? That’s even worse, man. Get out there. They got New Jersey spot on though. lol -- source link
